I'm Sebastien Rosa, a freelancer, hybrid, balancing between my designer and my programmer side. You're now on Alchimik, my development studio.
It's been already ten years since I launched my first website and since then I've devoted a major part of my life developing my skills in almost every aspects of the web. I'm mainly a programmer playing with Ruby on Rails, PHP, Javascript and ASP but with the years, my passion for the graphic design pushed me toward professional development.
In the last couple of years, I've focus a lot on CSS - Javascript - AJAX trying to bring the effectiveness of local applications on the web.
In the last 5 years, I must have spent 75% of my working time studying and developing content management systems. I know this field more than any other one. I can help you to easily and successfully manage your content without falling in the common traps.
I'm now working mostly with Ruby on Rails. This framework greatly improves the development time and facilitates the maintenance; I highly recommend it for the new projects. I can also work with ASP and PHP, languages that I've been using since 1999.
The constant refresh of the entire page is now over. With Javascript and AJAX, the web applications will now feel like desktop applications with the web-based applications advantages.
I design clean and professional looking interface, always in a standard way (XHTML 1.0), to fit all major browsers. The layouts are always table free and entirely managed by style sheets. I also give a special attention to the content integration. This step is critical for your visibility and it must be done in a "search-engine friendly" way.
I know how to use it. In fact I've been working with it since 1999, in numerous projects, but I now I try to avoid it. Most of the time there's better alternative, more practical and less expensive.
I have the infrastructure to host Ruby on Rails and PHP projects. If you need ASP, I can also help you to find a good host.
